Additional Concerts Approved for Sandstone Point Hotel

November 7, 2019

Sandstone Point Hotel has recently been approved to hold an additional two concerts totaling 11 concerts per calendar year. During the season of 2019, the venue hosted all 9 of its previously approved concerts within the first 6 months of the year and because of this missed out on many exciting international acts.

The huge demand from promoters and acts prompted the venue to apply to hold more concerts per year. Sandstone Point Hotel were successful in their application and were granted the 11 total concerts by council. The venue has proven success as the fastest selling Red Hot Summer show each year in the national tour, both shows featuring Hunters & Collectors have already sold out again for February 2020.

Entertainment Director, Jonathan Jackson is looking forward to the future. “It was difficult to knock back some of the incredible artists that wanted to play this year. Luckily we’ve got a massive 2020 planned! Stay tuned!”

Since opening in 2015, Sandstone Point Hotel went full force into the music industry with their first ever concert hosting music royalty The Beach Boys. Since then the huge acts catering to all demographics kept coming with Bryan Adams, Suzi Quatro, PNAU, The Presets, Safia, Jimmy Barnes, Hayden James, Sticky Fingers, The Jacksons and more making their way to the waterfront stage.

Jonathan Jackson is excited for the big year ahead with two out of three announced concerts already sold out. “We have three announced shows for 2020 so far with two already sold out and the third, Sandstone Rocks featuring Hoodoo Gurus and Violent Femmes on track to sell out too. We are excited to bring more shows to the region!”

If the amount of sold out shows weren’t proof enough of the venue’s success, the hotel invested 20 million into building on-site accommodation to cater to the demands of concert goers. BIG4 Sandstone Point Holiday Resort opened in November 2018 and in just one year of operation became the highest selling online BIG4 Park in Australia.

Sandstone Point Hotel owner and Director, Robert Comiskey believes this is positive news for the region. “We are committed to increasing the economic benefit for the region and the additional concerts are a step in the right direction. We appreciate the support of the council and are glad the council saw the economic benefit these concerts have. We are looking forward to developing our program and its diversity to continue to bring world class entertainment to the hotel that people of all ages can be excited about. We have been recognized as Australia’s Best Entertainment Venue and have won many awards for the entertainment at the hotel. To continue this legacy, we know we must keep up our efforts. We can’t wait to show you what we have planned!”
