Have a coffee with a cop at Bribie Island

May 13, 2016

On Thursday May 19, Constable Ben Keatch from Bribie Island Police will be sitting down with members of the local community for the second ‘Coffee with a Cop’ event held at Bribie Island Shopping Centre in conjunction with Gloria Jeans Coffee Shop.

The event invites members of the public to come down and share a coffee with their local police to discuss issues, raise questions or just get to know a little more about the activities and role of police on the island.

The ‘Coffee with a Cop’ program is an innovative approach to engaging with our local community. It opens up conversations with people who may be reluctant to attend a police station but still have issues or information they wish to discuss.

Constable Keatch will be joined by the stations Volunteer in Policing Mr Graham Gibb and representatives from the Bribie Island Neighbourhood Watch groups, who will be available to field questions and give people the opportunity to sign up to receive newsletters from their local groups as well as crime prevention information.

Come down to Gloria Jeans between 10am and 2pm on Thursday May 19 to share a humble ‘cuppa’ and get to know your local police.
