This Sunday (March 1) is Clean Up Australia Day, which is an opportunity for the community to help keep Bribie Island in pristine condition.
Since the national event started in 1990 Australians have donated more than 27.2 million hours taking to their streets, bushland, parks and waterways on Clean Up Australia Day, removing an estimated 288,650 tonnes of rubbish from 145,754 sites across the country.
Clean Up Australia Day is celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2015.
People can take part in Clean Up Australia Day this Sunday by volunteering to clean up a local area of Bribie Island.
