For the first time in Australia, a medieval jousting tournament will be presented in an arena show.
The Abbey Museum in partnership with Our Village Foundation will present the Abbey Medieval Jousting Spectacular at the Queensland State Equestrian Centre (QSEC) on Saturday, 15 November.
QSEC will be transported back in time when the arena comes alive with the thunderous sounds of hooves and ear-piercing cracks of lances as gallant knights battle for glory.
Following the success of the hugely popular Abbey Medieval Festival, the Jousting Spectacular will immerse visitors into an authentic medieval world where enthusiasts can enjoy an arena-sized jousting tournament from the very best of International and Australian Jousters, horse archery, jugglers, fire twirlers, jesters, acrobatics and authentic period singers and dancers – for one night only!
Don your period dress and join in the wedding festivities at this medieval spectacle as you cheer for your champion in this amazing Jousting Spectacular. Follow the story of the two late medieval dynasties the Dela Rosa and Von Blau armies, in conflict with each other as they are forced to celebrate the marriage of their heirs. Crowds will be immersed into the conflict and celebration during this spectacular medieval Joust.
Escape the G20 summit and spend a weekend in the Moreton Bay region.
Gates open from 5.30pm for a 7.00pm start to the formal festivities.
Tickets are on sale now from abbeymedievalfestival.com for $55.00 per adult, $45.00 per student/concession and children (3-16 years).
